Sue’s Story
Hi - I have a gambling problem, on bingo sites. I have been playing for about 3 years and have lost thousands. My partner knows I am addicted but has no idea how bad. I have taken the first steps today by telling all the sites I go on that I have a gambling problem and they have closed the accounts immediately. Apparently if I wish to go on them again I have to write to them, won’t be doing that. I don’t really want to go to a GA meeting so am hoping I will be strong enough to stay away. It is an awful feeling when you get into this mess, I have a good job and should be enjoying myself, instead it is going to take me years to clear the backlog of debt.

Hi Sue, Well done for taking action with the sites you have been losing money to. I don’t know why you feel you don’t want to attend meetings but I will just say that you may find that talking to others in a similar position may help you keep on the right track. There is also the new chat room here where you can join in chat with others or talk privately on a one to one basis. Hope this helps you, I wish you well.

Hi Sue, I am myself going through the same as you and maybe you should try a meeting and take it from there, nothing lost but your time and who knows it might help you more than you know, I’m going this week good luck.
